About La Cantina
Founded in 1992 by Giuseppe Calvani, La Cantina is now part of the Be Served Group and operated by his son, Marcus and business partner Josh Band.
Since 2010, La Cantina has been the only restaurant member of Genuine Jersey. Our team work very closely with fellow Genuine Jersey members to rear & source the finest local ingredients, priding ourselves in having one of the most local ingredient filled menus on the Island.
Everything is prepared from scratch, using a combination top quality imported and local produce. Our Genuine Jersey certified homemade pasta is fresh every day, and our pizza dough is made the traditional way, to a centuries-old Italian recipe using a ‘lievito madre’ natural yeast culture, proofed for 48hrs and fired in a stone oven for pizzas that taste as authentically Neapolitan as they come.
Using the best of what Jersey has to offer we make a range of delicacies including, homemade Italian style sausages using locally grown pork and seasonal foraged offerings, such as ‘gnocchi all’ortica’ stinging nettle gnocchi and local scallops with wild garlic. From farm to table, fresh, local & top quality, combined with the the best that Italy has to offer, this is what makes La Cantina stand out from the rest. It’s food ‘just like Mamma used to make’, with a fresh, modern twist, served without any fuss in a relaxed, vibrant environment.
‘La Cantina’ means ‘The Cellar’ hence we focus not only on Italian food, but 100% Italian wine as well.
